ABOUT RETRO4U

Hi, I’m Neil.

Retro4u is my corner of the retro-computing world — repairing, restoring and keeping classic computers, consoles and electronics alive.

THE STORY

Repair. Restore. Revive.

I’ve always enjoyed working with classic technology — finding the fault, understanding why something has failed, and getting hardware back to the point where it can be enjoyed again.

Retro4u grew from that interest into a place where I can share repairs, restorations, upgrades and workshop projects, both here on the website and through the Retro4u YouTube channel.

I work on a wide mix of machines, from Commodore and Amiga systems to Atari, Sinclair, Nintendo, SEGA, PlayStation and related peripherals. Every job is different, so I prefer sensible diagnosis and honest advice rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

WHAT I DO

Hands-on retro tech

From a machine that will not power on to a complete restoration, the aim is to treat the hardware properly and keep it useful for years to come.

🔧

Repairs

Diagnosis and component-level fault finding for classic computers, consoles and peripherals.

Restorations

Strip-down, cleaning, repair and careful rebuilding of systems that deserve another life.

Upgrades

Storage, display, memory and other useful upgrades where they make sense for the machine.

YouTube

Repairs, builds, reviews and workshop projects shared with the Retro4u community.

THE APPROACH

Careful work, honest advice.

Not every old machine needs every possible modification. I prefer to assess what is actually wrong, explain the options clearly and carry out work that suits the hardware and the person who owns it.

If you have something unusual, you can always send me a message with a few details and photos. If it is something I can help with, we can take it from there.
